Rapper Azealia Banks ripped into Sarah Palin in a series of graphic tweets on Monday, writing that the former Alaska governor should be gang-raped by a group of black men and then “locked in a cupboard.”
In a series of since-deleted Twitter messages, the 24-year-old Harlem-born rapper suggested that Palin should be forced to perform oral sex on a group of black men, and that the incident should be filmed and uploaded to the Internet.
Media Research Center was able to screenshot the offending tweets before they were deleted:
[Warning: Graphic Language]
Banks appeared to be responding to a satirical article from Newslo.com that jokingly quoted Palin telling an Alaska newspaper that black people “accepted [slavery] willingly” and that “negroes loved being slaves and they were doing just fine under our rules.”
The rapper seemingly realized her mistake shortly afterward, writing a brief follow-up message after deleting the initial tweets: “I can’t.”
But Banks wasn’t done just yet; after reporters from TheBlaze began tweeting about the story, the rapper confronted them, claiming that they too “need some black d—k” in their lives. She also bristled at the outlet’s use of the word “rape” in reference to her initial tweets calling for Palin to be gang-raped. Banks claimed that she would “never wish a woman to be raped.”
Finally, the rapper appeared to confirm her earlier tweets in a follow-up message to TheBlaze editor Oliver Darcy:
Banks — an outspoken advocate for reparations — was arrested in December after allegedly biting a nightclub security guard on her breast. Last week, the rapper swatted at photographers and used gay slurs outside the Manhattan courtroom where she had attended a hearing on the previous assault charge.
In an interview for her cover of Playboy‘s March issue last year, the rapper explained why she feels African-Americans are owed reparations for slavery, and said she hates “everything about this country.”
“Like, I hate fat white Americans,” she told the magazine then. “All the people who are crunched into the middle of America, the real fat and meat of America, are these racist conservative white people who live on their farms.”
Banks’ latest album, Slay-Z, was released on March 24.
