Disney offered fans a sneak peek at the live-action remake of 1977’s Pete’s Dragon this week.

Rolling Stone reports the updated version moves the story away from the early 20th Century and into the 1970s, in addition to removing the classic songs and replacing the old hand-drawn dragon with one that is CGI.

Pete will be played in the film by child actor Oakes Fegley, while Robert Redford and Bryce Dallas Howard will also take on leading roles. Indie filmmaker David Lowery will direct.

The film also stars Wes Bentley, Karl Urban, and Oona Laurence and is scheduled to debut on August 12th.
