Jennifer Lopez is facing a fierce Twitter backlash over her plan to perform in Israel this summer, with pro-Palestinian activists attacking her on social media and demanding she cancel her concert.

Writing under the hashtag #CancelTelAviv, activists have been questioning her motives for wanting to gig in Tel Aviv, accusing her of “entertaining children’s killers.”

Some of the tweets have been accompanied by graphic photos purportedly showing injured children in Gaza, with a caption questioning the American singer’s decision.

Similarly, Israeli advocacy group StandWithUs urged users not to “promote incitement and hate against the Jewish state.” The group warned against the dangers of false information.

“In one example I saw, an activist was spamming Jennifer Lopez with pictures from conflicts in Africa, while claiming the horrific pictures were from Gaza,” Emily Schrader, the social media director for StandWithUs claimed to The Jerusalem Post.

As Breitbart Jerusalem reported earlier this month, Miss Lopez was looking to perform in Tel Aviv in the summer.

The 46-year-old songstress will perform a single show in Tel Aviv, marking her first concert for Israeli fans, joining other international pop stars set to perform in Israel this summer, including Elton John, SIA, Deep Purple, and Julio Iglesias.

Meanwhile Lauryn Hill and Elvis Costello have both caved in to boycott pressure, cancelling their gigs in Israel. British folk singer Donovan also canceled a scheduled concert in Jaffa amid rumors of a boycott.

Lopez is regarded as one of the U.S.’s most successful artists of Latin descent, selling nearly 60 million records, and has not announced any plans to cancel her Israel trip.

Meanwhile, American hip hop sensation Jason Derulo announced his debut performance in Israel this April.

In the past, the “Watcha Say” singer/dancer collaborated with popular Israeli hip hop band Balkan Beat Box
