The first trailer for Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War debuted this week on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
As its title suggests, the latest installment in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe (and the kickoff film for Phase 3) finds Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) on opposite sides of the law after the government decides to regulate superheroes.
Most of the Avengers are back for this one, including Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, Don Cheadle’s War Machine, Anthony Mackie’s Falcon, and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man. Civil War also gives us our first look at Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Paul Bettany as Vision, and Tom Holland as Spiderman.
Joe and Anthony Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) return to direct off of a script from series scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
The trailer has already been viewed more than 5 million times since its release Tuesday night.
Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6, 2016.
