A lot of women get paid for their personalities; however, Victoria’s Secret “Angels” aren’t known for profiting from character. Don’t tell that to Gisele Bundchen.
The 35-year-old Brazilian beauty, who has been married to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady since 2009, recently discussed her successful modeling career with CBS’ Charlie Rose.
“Are you the best because of the look that you had?” Rose asked Bundchen, to which she responded: “Not at all…I don’t think so. Not at all.”
Bundchen, who is reportedly worth $386 million, instead credits her accomplishments to her work ethic, saying she’s always had a good “personality.”
“I think [it’s] because of my personality,” Bundchen said, via Fox News Insider. “I think I never complained, you know? I think if they said, ‘Gisele, go there, it’s below zero in a bathing suit, and start jumping!’ And I’m like, ‘That’s what I do.'”
While the model raises a valid point about the importance of having a good attitude in an industry that’s notorious for crazy demands and diva attitudes, she is not giving herself or her trademark looks enough credit for her success.
Somehow, some way, being blessed with good looks has to help you in going up against the competition.
Bundchen announced in April she was retiring from the catwalk after 20 years.
As part of her retirement, she recently released a $700 limited-edition coffee table book that sold out in under 24 hours, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Judging by the book’s immediate success, that is one photogenic personality.
