It has been roughly five years since Disney and Johnny Depp brought Alice in Wonderland back to life, but now the studio has released a short teaser trailer for the sequel, Alice Through the Looking Glass.
The new footage certainly lives up to the “teaser” title, as it’s simply a bluebird flying through the titular “looking glass.” But with the New Year approaching fast, a full trailer is likely coming soon.
Through the Looking Glass brings back Depp as the Mad Hatter, along with the original movie’s Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, and Mia Wasikowska as Alice. Alan Rickman, Michael Sheen, and Timothy Spall are also back for the sequel.
Sacha Baron Cohen and Rhys Ifans join the cast for this go-round.
James Bobin (The Muppets, Da Ali G Show) directs off of a script from Linda Woolverton (The Lion King, Alice in Wonderland).
Alice Through the Looking Glass hits theaters on May 27, 2016. Check out the latest teaser above.
