According to former King of Queens star Leah Remini, Tom Cruise has an explosive temper and is often abusive to assistants and members of the Church of Scientology who he feels are beneath him.
Remini publicly exited the controversial organization in 2013, and after initially remaining quiet, is now airing out more dirty laundry as part of her new tell-all book, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology.
During an interview with ABC’s 20/20 last Friday, the 45-year-old TV star opened up about her falling out with the church, of which she was a near lifelong member, and alleged she was shunned for being critical of Tom’s role within Scientology.
Also, according to Remini, her exit was initiated by events that occurred during the 2006 wedding of he and actress Katie Holmes.
She claims she was accused by members of the church of misbehaving at the European ceremony, which was seen as somewhat of a sacred event, as Cruise is the group’s marquee member.
The actress now details more allegations against the Mission Impossible star, who she says has a short fuse.
Per an article published by The Daily Mail on Monday, Remini now claims she personally witnessed a number of “episodes,” in which Cruise flipped out over trivial incidents.
Remini says Cruise was once sent into a rage after he was served a mug of tea with a chip in the rim by one of his assistants.
“You served me tea in a chipped mug?” he allegedly said in a scolding rebuke. “Do you know who gets served with a mug that’s chipped? F–king DBs.”
According to the Mail, DB is a derogatory Scientology term for a “Degraded Being.”
Late science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard, who created the religion in the 1950s, wrote out a doctrine for members of the church. Within Scientology, Degraded Beings are so infested with Body Thetans, or evil alien spirits, that even the group’s famed auditing practice cannot help them, according to outside individuals with knowledge of the secret group.
On another occasion, per Remini, she witnessed Cruise verbally abuse a female assistant, who he mistakenly thought hadn’t thoroughly prepared cookie dough for him to bake with his friends.
“Get in the f–king present time, is what you need to do!” she says he yelled at the woman.
Remini also claims that despite what one might believe, Cruise “doesn’t like” other high-ranking celeb Scientologists Kirstie Alley and John Travolta.
She also claims Cruise’s children with former wife Nicole Kidman, Bella and Connor, have been conditioned to dislike their mother, who is not involved with Scientology, according to Us Weekly magazine.
During an interaction with the children, Remini says she asked them if they had seen their mother, to which Bella, 13, replied, “Not if I have a choice… Our mom is a f–king SP.”
In Scientology, SP is short for “Suppressed Person,” a term given to someone the Church regards as problematic. Scientology prohibits its members from interacting with anyone deemed “SP,” and the label is given to all former members of the Church.
