Actor Harry Hamlin dressed up as notorious Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious for a Halloween costume party on Friday night, sporting a leather jacket, sunglasses, a loose cigarette dangling from his lips — and completing the look with a bright red T-shirt emblazoned with a Nazi swastika.
The 64-year-old veteran L.A. Law actor wore the controversial get-up to George Clooney’s star-studded Casamigos Halloween Party in Beverly Hills, according to the New York Post.
Hamlin was accompanied by his wife Lisa Rinna, who dressed as Vicious’ girlfriend Nancy Spungen.
The party was held at the Beverly Hills home of Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber, who, along with Clooney, created the Casamigos Tequila brand.
Celebrities came out in droves for the event, according to TMZ: Jessica Alba, Channing Tatum, Gwen Stefani, Lenny Kravitz, Fergie, Josh Duhamel, Seth MacFarlane, Sacha Baron Cohen, Maria Shriver, Paris Hilton, David Spade, and Serena Williams were just some of the few in attendance.
Hamlin appeared to be the only guest to go with an “edgy’ Halloween costume, as most of the celebrities in attendance opted for sexy or quirky get-ups.
UPDATE: Lisa Rinna apologized Monday for her husband’s controversial Halloween costume.
If I hurt you… we were being authentic to the characters of Sid and Nancy for our Halloween costumes. It hurt and angered many of you and we are deeply sorry for that. That was never our intention. We did not mean to offend. With love, Lisa and Harry.
