There was no shortage of pot-smoking and weed-related jokes during Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards – and host Miley Cyrus apparently kept the party going after the show wrapped by passing a lit joint around the VMA press room.
“Everyone. I’m sure a lot of us have known each other for a really long time,” Cyrus told the assembled reporters at the end of the show, according to the New York Daily News. “Even though I’m not old, I’ve been doing this sh*t for a while.”
“And because you’re all my friends, and my song is kinda sorta about the love of marijuana slash the love of humankind, I brought a little joint if anyone would like any. Anyone?” the singer offered.
It was not clear whether any of the reporters actually accepted the joint and smoked with Cyrus, but pictures taken in the press room appear to show at least one reporter handing the joint back to the 22-year-old singer.
“I’ve been hosting, so I got used to the microphone and just talking to people like they give a f**k, so I’m just going to keep doing it in my normal life also,” Cyrus said.
After exiting the press room for a brief moment, Cyrus returned “bearing more gifts,” according to People. She then proceeded to hand out unripened avocados to the assembled press.
