Billy Ray Cyrus on Miley’s Sexuality: ‘We’ve Always Been Very Open-Minded’

There’s nothing but love and light coming from the Cyrus family.

Billy Ray Cyrus opened up about his daughter’s sexuality backstage at the VMAs Sunday night, saying his family has always been “very open-minded.”

“We’ve always been very open-minded,” Billy told E! “Listen, it’s all about love and light. Forget the negativity and the haters.”

He continued:

She’s rocking and rolling and having a good time. What the world needs is love. There’s too much hate…The world needs positive influences…

…Even when she was a little girl, we told her, ‘Hey baby, do what you do and have fun doing it. Do it because you love it, not because you have to…

…Seeing her happy is the greatest thing ever.

Miley came out as “pansexual” prior to her latest gif, and told Paper Magazine she’s sexually open to “every single thing that is consenting and doesn’t involve an animal and everyone is of age.”

“Yo, I’m down with any adult-anyone over the age of 18 who is down to love me. I don’t relate to being a boy or girl, and I don’t have to have my partner relate to boy or girl,” said the 22-year-old.

Miley also told the mag she spoke to her mother about her admiration for women when she was just 14, saying she loves girls the same way she loves boys.
