Trevor Noah will have some big shoes to fill when The Daily Show returns to Comedy Central next month, although you wouldn’t know it by watching his introductory promo.
Stewart, 52, retired a darling of the Left on August 6, and despite being obliterated in the ratings by the primetime Fox News Republican debate, his signoff was mourned by everyone from President Obama and Hillary Clinton, to Jimmy Fallon.
Enter Trevor Noah, who appears to be trying to kickoff a new era in style:
Walking out to Kanye West’s “Power,” the 31-year-old South African comedian, who was handpicked by Stewart as a successor, sits at the desk the former host called home for 16 years.
“Same Chair, Different Ass” the spot says, before a much taller Noah adjusts the chair’s height.
The Daily Show with Trevor Noah will debut on Comedy Central September 28.
