An activist, a man wearing a dress, and an embattled Democratic presidential frontrunner walk in to a TV studio. It is not the set-up for a joke; it is The Ellen DeGeneres Show’s season premiere lineup of women who are “changing the world.”
DeGeneres took to Twitter Monday to announce Hillary Clinton, Bruce Jenner, and 18-year-old Nobel Prize-winning Pakistani education activist Malala Yousafzai–who was shot in the head by the Pakistani Taliban in 2012 because she wanted education for girls–will be joining her show’s 13th season:
Clinton, who was against same-sex marriage for most of her prior visits to openly-gay Ellen’s show, changed her position on gay marriage in 2013.
Bruce Jenner is acclimating to life as Caitlyn, who will make her first “Ellen” appearance, as will Yousafzai.
Ellen will be back on the air starting September 8.
