Chrissy Teigen has a message for all the meanies who insult her on social media: If you’re going to put me down, at least do me the courtesy to not tag me in your posts.
Teigen, who is married to singer-songwriter John Legend, is known for her outspoken personality and occasional gaffes but says she isn’t a fan of those who spam her pages with negative commentary.
“It’s almost like f*cking walking up to somebody, or going to somebody’s house, knocking on the door and being like, ‘You’re fat,'” Teigen told Us Weekly regarding those who tag her in insulting posts on Twitter and Instagram.”I don’t know if they think they’re ballsy or what. But if you’re going to speak negatively about me, just do me a favor and don’t tag me in it.”
She added: “I would like to say I read everything because it’s pretty damn close.”
“Probably 99.5 percent of things I really do read. And if I’m not reading it, it just means that I missed it. I mean, I think that people think that when they send you things, it goes off into space and you don’t care. The worst is when you respond and they’re like, ‘Oh, I didn’t think you would read that! I love you! Oh my God!’ Like, that’s the worst,” she said.
The 29-year-old model also referred to her cell phone as her “little security blanket,” because she just can’t stay off it.
“Technology is a huge part of my life,” she said. “I’m never not on my phone.”
Teigen has been under fire several times in recent months for violating Instagram’s “no nudity” policy with raunchy photos, which caused her modeling agency to interject by asking her to stop posting her nipples online.
“I love and respect Instagram so much. Obviously I was getting in a lot of trouble for posting and posting and posting my nipple over and over and over again like a child,” said Teigen. “It wasn’t meant to be a big feminist statement, a big campaign… it would be nice if women could have the same rights as men. Wouldn’t it be so wonderful if we could just be able to do that? But rules are rules, and honestly, I understand.”
