Robert De Niro is set to play Anne Hathaway’s 70-year old intern in the aptly titled The Intern, set for release later this year.
According to the film’s official synopsis, De Niro plays 70-year old Ben Whittaker, a widower who has “discovered that retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin (Hathaway).”
The Intern was written and directed by Nancy Meyers (The Holiday, Something’s Gotta Give) and also stars Nat Wolff, Renee Russo, Adam DeVine, Andrew Rannells and Reid Scott.
The film hits theaters September 25.
