Brie Larson looks ready to break out in Room.
The actress has co-starred in several high-profile hits like 21 Jump Street and this summer’s Trainwreck alongside Amy Schumer.
But in the creepy first trailer for Room, the actress looks like she’s got the skills to push herself onto the A-list.
Room, based on the 2010 novel of the same name by Emma Donoghue, follows 5-year-old boy Jack (Jacob Tremblay) and his mother, identified only as Ma (played by Larson) as they live their day-to-day lives trapped in a one-room shed. Jack has never seen the outside world; the circumstances of their captivity are slowly revealed throughout the novel, and I won’t spoil anything here.
Lenny Abrahamson (Frank) directs from a screenplay by Donoghue. William H. Macy and Megan Park co-star.
Room hits theaters October 16.
