Snoop Dogg was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a performance in Sweden on Saturday, but the rapper claims his skin color was a factor in the detention.
“Police carrying out roadside controls noticed that Snoop Dogg [whose car was pulled over] seemed to be under the influence of narcotics,” Swedish police spokesman Daniel Nilsson told the Guardian. “He was arrested and taken to the police station to take a urine test.”
“The incident lasted several minutes,” Nilsson added. “Once the test was carried out, he left.”
The rapper, 43, posted several videos documenting the arrest to his Instagram account, including one apparently taken while police were making the arrest:
One appeared to be taken from inside the police station:
“Profiling. Racial profiling,” Snoop says in the video. “Sorry about that, peoples, I’ll never be back to ya’ll’s country, it’s been real.”
In another video, Snoop reassures fans that he “made it through.”
“They took me down there, made me pee in a cup, didn’t find sh*t, no case, no nothing,” the rapper said. “But, like [Nation of Islam founder] Minister Farrakhan would say, ‘it’s better to be searched and found with nothing then not to be searched at all.’ F*** y’all.”
