Electronic musician Moby, a staunch vegan, joined members of the group Mercy for Animals in front of a major supermarket in Los Angeles, CA, to protest Foster Farms’ treatment of chickens.
The “Porcelain” singer was seen on social media in front of Vons Supermarket on Sunset BLVD holding a sign that read, “FOSTER FARMS TORTURES CHICKENS,” and according to the Daily Mail, he has lived off of only greens for the last 28 years.

The 49-year-old also described the protest as “powerful” on his Twitter page:
To assist in making his point that practices for breeding chickens for human consumption are morally wrong, Moby also posed alongside a protester dressed as a chicken, and spoke to the Mail about his intentions:
Foster Farms came under fire earlier this year after an undercover video taken by Mercy for Animals showed some chickens being slammed into metal shackles, while others had their feathers pulled out while they were still alive.
The company later suspended five employees and said it was cooperating with an investigation by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
On its website, Mercy for Animals states, “Industrial farms raise and kill 9 billion animals a year in the United States,” and claims to be “on the front lines” to protect the animals.
Moby hinted on Twitter Thursday that the world would be in better hands if it were led by animals:
