LeBron James is nearly as comfortable on the silver screen as he is on the basketball court, as evidenced by his scene-stealing turn as himself in this month’s Judd Apatow movie Trainwreck.

So perhaps it comes as no surprise that James has signed a content creation deal with Warner Bros. to develop film and television projects for the studio.

According to Variety, James’ SpringHill Entertainment production shingle will work to develop film, television and original digital content for Warners. James, SpringHill co-founder Maverick Carter and Warners CEO Kevin Tsujihara announced the new deal in a statement Wednesday.

“LeBron James has one of the most powerful, well-known brands in the world and we are excited to be in business with him and his partner, Maverick Carter, and SpringHill Entertainment,” Tsujihara said Wednesday. “The combination of LeBron’s global media presence and Warner Bros.’ unmatched production and distribution expertise is a big win for fans everywhere.”

SpringHill and Warner Bros. did not mention any specific projects as part of the deal, Variety reported.

“Connecting with my fans and telling meaningful stories have always been my passion,” James said in a statement. “In everything I’ve done, from Nike commercials to Uninterrupted and Survivor’s Remorse, it’s always about connecting with people of all ages and providing unique content they can all enjoy. And I’ve always loved movies, which makes Warner Bros. the ultimate partner to help us continue to push the envelope. I can’t wait to see what we come up with.”

SpringHill Entertainment already has a number of television shows under its belt, including Disney XD’s Becoming, Starz’s Survivor’s Remorse, and a forthcoming game show for NBC.

James has earned rave reviews for his role in Trainwreck. New York Times film critic Manohla Dargis called James a “surprisingly limber comic presence” in the film, while the Wall Street Journal‘s Joe Morgenstern praised the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar for his “impeccable comic timing.”
