After being pulled along with many other Marvel titles, action game Deadpool has been put back on sale on Steam. This re-release comes in the midst of a buildup of publicity and excitement for the Deadpool movie, which casts Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool and is set to debut on February 12, 2016.
Deadpool, action-adventure/stealth platformer Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, beat ‘em up action game X-Men Destiny, and hack and slash title X-Men Origins: Wolverine were pulled from Steam, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live in January 2014. Dan Amrich, community manager for Activision which published the games, had announced that the company’s licensing contract with Marvel had ended. The community manager also announced that Marvel had pulled Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom games.
Marvel was bought by Disney for $4 billion in 2009. Here are some clips from Deadpool:
