She’s not a big rock singer, but reality TV star Kim Kardashian can see her “smilin’ face” on the cover of this month’s Rolling Stone, and Irish singer-songwriter Sinead O’Connor isn’t happy about it.
The controversial 1990s music figure, who has for the most part faded into obscurity, took to her Facebook page Tuesday to slam the leftist music and culture publication for featuring Kardashian on its front page, and she called for a boycott.
“What is this c— doing on the cover of Rolling Stone?” O’Connor asked her 500 thousand Facebook followers alongside Kim’s risqué photo.
“Music has officially died,” she added. “Who knew it would be Rolling Stone that murdered it? Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh can no longer be expected to take all the blame. Bob Dylan must be f—ing horrified.
The 48-year-old “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer ended the post, writing. “#BoycottRollingStone.”

The magazine’s July 3 issue features Kardashian in a sailor’s cap and shows a lot of skin. Inside the mag, the professional celebrity says, “I’m so much smarter than I’m portrayed.”
Rolling Stone has been criticized in the past for its questionable covers, including featuring Boston marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on the cover of its August 2013 issue.
Just last month, actor Patrick Warburton (Seinfeld, Family Guy) went after the magazine for the Tsarnaev feature.
“I’ve always had an issue with Rolling Stone,” Warburton said. “They put f—ing Snooki on the cover. Rush just made it — one of the greatest rock bands on the cover of Rolling Stone, just now. And they had the Boston bomber on the cover when they talked about the 100 most important rock bands of all time, they didn’t include Pearl Jam.”
“They can really be f—ing idiots over there,” the actor concluded of Rolling Stone.
