Lena Dunham, the star and showrunner of HBO’s Girls, has announced she will be launching a weekly newsletter this fall, called Lenny, to connect with Millennials who want to discuss “radical politics,” feminism, and pop culture.
Following in the footsteps of Gwyneth Paltrow, Lenny will produce essays and advice pieces which covers fashion, style, health, politics, and feminism.
“We are so pleased to announce Lenny, the new email newsletter from @jennikonner & me. Feminism, style, health, politics: we will strive to bring it all to your inbox and to highlight unique voices. We sure hope yours is one of them. So get in bed with us at lennyletter.com (link also in bio.) LYLAS,” said Dunham.
An e-commerce component will be added later, but will reportedly be more affordable than what you will find browsing Paltrow’s Goop site.
“Jenni and I have always been obsessed with Goop,” Dunham told Buzzfeed. “We feel strongly that even if some of it is aspirational, it’s aspirations like ‘I want to know how to take care of my body and soufflé something.'”
Dunham, who was the subject of an investigation by Breitbart’s John Nolte last year, previously claimed she was raped by a college Republican named “Barry” in her memoir.
Those claims were later found to be baseless, but Dunham is still moving full speed ahead with her career, despite the negative press and poor ratings for Girls.
President Barack Obama’s eldest daughter Malia was spotted spending time with Dunham on the set of the raunchy show earlier this month.
Malia is reportedly working for Dunham as a summer intern.
