The Melbourne skyline will soon look drastically different, now that a skyscraper inspired by Beyoncé has been approved for construction.
The “Run the World” singer apparently has big fans down under, and they’re planning to honor her pop music achievements with a feat of their own.
The Australia-based architecture firm Elenberg Fraser has announced plans to build a 226 meter-high (roughly 740 feet) skyscraper in Melbourne that features a curvaceous form inspired by a Beyoncè music video.
The firm, which is behind around 42 percent of the architecture and interior designs for apartment buildings in Melbourne, will reportedly pay homage to Queen B through the shape of its newest tower located at 134 Spencer Street.
“For those more on the art than science side, we will reveal that the form does pay homage to something more aesthetic – we’re going to trust you’ve seen the music video for Beyoncè’s Ghost,” the firm said.
Located at the west end of Melbourne’s central business district, the 68-story building was approved by planning officials in May, and will house 660 apartments and a 160-room hotel.
