Miley Cyrus has revealed she came out as bisexual to her mother at age 14.

In a wide-ranging interview and naked photo shoot with Paper magazine (Warning: link NSFW), Cyrus discussed her bisexuality, gender fluidity, and her social activism organization, the Happy Hippie Foundation.

“I remember telling [my mom] I admire women in a different way,” Cyrus told the magazine of coming out at age 14. “And she asked me what that meant. And I said, ‘I love them. I love them like I love boys.’ And it was so hard for her to understand. She didn’t want me to be judged and she didn’t want me to go to hell.”

Still, Cyrus said, her mother, Tish, ultimately accepted her, even though she describes both her mother and father, Billy Ray Cyrus, as “conservative-ass motherf***ers.”

Cyrus also explained her own gender fluidity and sexual preferences:

“I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn’t involve an animal and everyone is of age. Everything that’s legal, I’m down with. Yo, I’m down with any adult — anyone over the age of 18 who is down to love me. I don’t relate to being boy or girl, and I don’t have to have my partner relate to boy or girl.”

The pop star, who rocketed to fame as a teenager after playing the titular rockstar heroine on Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, also discussed her motivation for founding the Happy Hippie Foundation earlier this year, an organization that aims to reduce teen homelessness with an emphasis on the LGBT community.

“I can’t drive by in my f***ing Porsche and not f***ing do something,” Cyrus told Paper. “I see it all day: people in their Bentleys and their Rolls and their Ubers, driving past these vets who have fought for our country, or these young women who have been raped.”

“I was doing a show two nights ago, and I was wearing butterfly nipple pasties and butterfly wings. I’m standing there with my tits out, dressed like a butterfly. How the f***is that fair? How am I so lucky?”

Cyrus, who called Indiana Gov. Mike Pence an “a**hole” for signing Indiana’s Religious Freedom and Restoration Act earlier this year, also lashed out at conservative lawmakers.

“Those people [shouldn’t] get to make our laws,” Cyrus told the magazine. “Those people – the ones who believe that, say, Noah’s Ark was a real seafaring vessel. That’s f***ing insane. We’ve outgrown that fairy tale, like we’ve outgrown f***ing Santa and the tooth fairy.”
