Actor Tom Hanks’ son is being accused of trashing a hotel room. (No, not the budding TV and film star… the other one. The 24-year-old self-described rapper with an affinity for using the “N-word.”)
Chester Hanks, better known as Chet Haze, is being pursued by British detectives, following an alleged evening of debauchery, which ended with severe damage to a four-star hotel room near Gatwick, just south of London.
According to the Daily Mirror, Chester allegedly lost his cool after a wild night two weeks ago, and smashed up his room at the Arora International, after taking three girls and a friend in for a nightcap.
The Mirror reports Hanks downed expensive champagne and vodka in the VIP lounge section of a nearby club, before becoming annoyed that nobody recognized him and heading back to his room.
From the Daily Mirror:
A source claimed: “He was pretty obnoxious once he started drinking at the club. He kept saying ‘do you know who I am?’ Nobody was all that impressed and that was clearly annoying him. Nobody recognised him.
“He then went back to the hotel with a British actor friend and three female promoters. He was sick in the car park and then went up to the room and got really loud.
“He asked the girls if they would join him in the bed, but they are not like that. So he started screaming and making a right noise. He saw some sprinkled make-up called banana powder and started asking ‘who’s got the coke?’ But nobody did drugs there.
“Then he started shouting that he was not going to share it with another man.”
While the hotel damage was nowhere near Keith Moon status, Chester allegedly caused £1,200 (roughly $1,800) worth of damage.
The site reports a “shocked” staff called police next morning after finding shattered glass and a Television ripped off of a wall.
A detective would not name the Hollywood legacy, but did say: “We have been given the name of the suspect, a 24-year-old man from the USA. We are working with other agencies to try to trace him so he can be interviewed.”
The Mirror reports Hanks is said to be the suspect.
The 24-year-old first grabbed headlines in April for his involvement in a feud with Howard Stern on social media. He has since come under fire for his use of the “N-word” on Instagram.
Chester defended using the word, saying, “Hip-hop isn’t about race. It’s about the culture you identify with.”
Hanks’ Instagram has since been deleted.
