Lindsay Lohan’s May 28 community service deadline is drawing nearer, and while the troubled starlet may have more than 100 hours left to complete in order to avoid jail time, she missed an all-important 10-hour shift Tuesday.
According to TMZ, LiLo is scheduled to hurriedly complete a court ordered punishment stemming from a 2012 reckless driving arrest, but was absent from the Brooklyn preschool Tuesday where she has been ordered to serve the remaining 115 hours of her sentence.
Even more confusing, Lohan took to Twitter Monday to tell followers she was back in the New York:
The New York Daily News reports Lohan may have been untruthful with the post, as she was spotted entering a hotel shortly after arriving in NYC Tuesday.
While her tardiness is not illegal, a person close to Lohan told the Daily News they were left “speechless” by her behavior, considering she was most likely still in London, where she has been living for the past year as a cast member of the play Speed the Plow.
School officials at the Duffield Children’s Center in Fort Greene were reportedly forced to excuse her absence, and said she would get to work on Wednesday.
“She will be doing her community service with us,” said Duffield administrator Ivonne Lopez, who blamed the absence on “unspecified hurdles,” according to the Daily News.
An attorney for Lohan has reportedly stated the star has completed only nine hours and 45 minutes of community service.
With weekend work out of the question, LiL0 is left with only 12 business days to get finished.
The clock is ticking.
