Just weeks after settling out of court for a February 2014 hoops assault, R&B singer Chris Brown has again been named a suspect after a basketball-related physical altercation.

According to TMZ, Brown was staying in the Palms Casino Resort’s Hardwood Suite in Las Vegas, NV over the weekend, and decided to play a game of basketball with a group of men. At 3:42am Monday he got into an argument with a player on the opposing team and allegedly punched him.

Brown was quickly identified as the man who allegedly assaulted the adult male, according to the Las Vegas police. The man was reportedly treated for minor injuries.

According to the Las Vegas Metro PD, after being struck by Brown, a member of Brown’s entourage then hit the victim. After the first hit, “the victim prepared to defend himself and was then hit by another male reportedly with Brown,” a Las Vegas police’s press release stated, according to Billboard.

“Mr. Brown has been given the option of signing a citation for misdemeanor battery, or having the case submitted to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution,” the release reportedly said. “As of this release, the LVMPD has not heard from Mr. Brown or his attorney indicating whether or not he would sign the citation.”

Less than two weeks ago, on April 23, TMZ reported Brown had settled a previous basketball assault case out-of-court for somewhere in the ballpark of nine figures.

A man named Malcolm Ausbon filed a lawsuit last year, alleging Chris and three other men assaulted him during a game at a 24-Hour Fitness location last February in Los Angeles, CA.

Brown was taken off probation in March of this year, which stemmed from the 2009 assault of his then-girlfriend, pop singer Rhianna.
