Celebrity Apprentice Star’s Wife is Carrying His Grandchild

Actor and Celebrity Apprentice star Lorenzo Lamas’ wife is carrying his grandchild via surrogacy.

According to the Daily Mail, Lamas’ wife Shawna offered her stepdaughter the chance to have another child after she underwent a life-saving hysterectomy that unfortunately killed the baby boy she had been carrying last year.

“Someone else carrying your baby is weird,” Lamas’ daughter Shayne told the Mail. “But I lost my son, and now Shawna is carrying my son. I have just been given the biggest blessing in the whole world and I will always be grateful.”

According to the report, Shayne lost her unborn baby in February 2014 after experiencing a rupture in her uterus that required her to have life-saving surgery. Luckily, her stepmother, who has never been pregnant before herself, was there to step in.

“I’m ecstatic to be pregnant,” Shawna, who works at a fertility clinic, told the Mail. “It’s the best thing in the world. Shayne was really broken [after losing her child], but she didn’t understand her options. That’s my world – I understood her options.”

Lamas, who starred in a series of soap operas like Falcon Crest, Renegade, and The Bold and the Beautiful, and who has six children of his own, told the outlet he is eagerly awaiting another grandchild.

“My wife is going to give birth to a child that we’re not going to bring home,” Lamas told the Mail. “But it’s my grandchild, so we are going to have a great relationship with him and see him a lot. Our whole family is onboard. I am looking forward to being a grandparent again – we are going to have fun with this little guy.”

Shawna Lamas’ reported due date is July 10.
