A dramatic 9-1-1 call has been released, in which a witness describes the moments leading up to the death of Terry Carter at the hands of rap mogul Suge Knight, who has been charged with murder following a fatal hit-and-run.
The alleged incident happened around 3 p.m. Jan. 29, when Knight and two men began arguing on the set of a promotional spot for Straight Outta Compton, a biopic about the rap group N.W.A.
The men left, but Knight allegedly tracked them in a red pick-up truck, and the altercation continued.
An emotional woman can be heard describing her version of the events to an emergency dispatcher on a recording obtained by the Los Angeles Times.
“The car ran over two guys, there was fighting and then he just pulled back and pulled forward and run ‘em over,” she said. “Two guys are laying down.”
The woman also added that she had attempted to follow the truck and had taken photos.
Listen to the 9-1-1 recording:
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Capt. John Corina said a week ago that the two men were in the parking lot of a restaurant about 20 minutes after a verbal dispute, when they encountered the former Death Row Records founder.
Police believe victims Terry Carter and Cle “Bone” Sloan were purposely run over.
“The people we talked to say it looked like it was an intentional act,” Corina told the Los Angeles Times. “Looks like he drove backwards and struck the victims and drove forwards and struck them again.”
Knight, who is being held on numerous charges, including murder, has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
His original $2 million bail has been revoked.
