Former Disney star David Henrie has been cast to play a young Ronald Reagan in a new biopic about the president’s life, titled Reagan.
From Reagan’s days as an actor and staunch anti-communist SAG president, all the way to his role in tearing down the iron curtain as leader of the free world, Reagan looks to offer a comprehensive view of the events that molded the popular figure.
“It’s a universal film with universal values and principles,” Henrie told The Hollywood Reporter about the film, which is being adapted by Space Cowboys‘ Howard Klausner from two biographies by Paul Kengor.
Ralph Winter ( X-Men, Fantastic Four), is executive producer on the project, and Mark Joseph has signed on to produce. A director, or additional cast members, have yet to be assigned.
The film will reportedly be told from the perspective of a KGB officer who followed the former president’s career closely.
