Fitness expert and television actor Greg Plitt, who was struck and killed by a train in Burbank on Saturday, was reportedly trying to outrun a train while filming a commercial for an energy drink when the train hit him.
Authorities told TMZ that they have reviewed video footage of the incident, in which they said that Plitt was standing on the tracks, waiting for the train to arrive, before getting into a runner’s stance and taking off.
The video, which has not been released, reportedly shows Plitt losing the race with the train, although the video does not show what happened to the Bravo TV star after he was struck.
Initial reports claimed that Plitt had been using a camcorder in an attempt to film something near the tracks, when he stumbled and fell. However, law enforcement sources told TMZ they now believe that Plitt was attempting to perform the stunt for an energy drink commercial.
Investigators reportedly found several cans of the energy drink near the Metrolink train tracks where Plitt was killed.
Plitt, who was 37, was featured on the Bravo television show Work Out, as well as several feature films, including Terminator Salvation and Grudge Match. Plitt also served as a U.S. Army Ranger.
