Here’s a movie trivia quiz: Who would you call the go-to actor for renowned filmmaker Martin Scorsese? Robert De Niro? Leonardo DiCaprio?

Now suppose writer Terence Winter (The Wolf of Wall Street) and director Brett Ratner (Rush Hour) got their hands on a reported $70 million to create a commercial for two new casinos in Asian locales: the Studio City in Macau, China and the City of Dreams in Manila, Philippines.

According to Rolling Stone, such a project is indeed in the works, featuring Scorsese himself and his two faves, De Niro and DiCaprio.The mega-budget short film is titled The Audition.

In the trailer, we see the two actors arrive at the Macau casino to discover that they are both there to audition for the same role in a Scorsese film. Some awkwardness ensues:

According to an anonymous tip to Page Sixthe actors each bagged a cool $13 million for two days of work, as did Brad Pitt, although he only appears in the trailer in a headshot, opting not to interrupt his honeymoon with wife Angelina Jolie.

Regarding the reported production costs, a spokesman for Melco Crown Entertainment claimed that the financial figures were “wrong and have not been publicly disclosed.”
