The O.J. Simpson TV miniseries has been set for production, and while Cuba Gooding Jr. has already been set to play Simpson, another prominent figure in the very public 1995 murder trial was cast this week, reports US Weekly.

Robert Kardashian Sr., who was once married to Kris Jenner, and who fathered Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, and Rob Jr., will be portrayed by Friends star David Schwimmer.

The FX series, titled American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, will reportedly follow the public trial and examine “a combination of prosecution confidence, defense wiliness, and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community, [which] gave a jury reasonable doubt.”

“The miniseries takes a look at the O.J. Simpson trial told from the perspective of the lawyers that explores the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court,” FX said in a press release.

The People v. O.J. Simpson is the first installment of Ryan Murphy’s new anthology miniseries, American Crime Story, which will document infamous crimes.

The 10-episode project will chronicle Simpson’s 1995 murder trial following the death of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson, Kris Jenner’s best friend.

The miniseries will also star American Horror Story‘s Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark.
