“All you celebrities out there who poured ice water on your head … here’s a chance to do something else,” says Samuel L. Jackson in a new video.
The Pulp Fiction star posted a video clip over the weekend asking fellow stars to make their voices heard against what he sees as a wave of unjust, and racist, police behavior. He linked to the video via his Facebook page, and the post quickly gathered nearly 50,000 “likes.”
Jackson’s request? Record yourself singing lyrics to the song We Ain’t Gonna Stop ‘Til People Are Free.
I can hear my neighbor cryin’ ‘I can’t breathe’
Now I’m in the struggle and I can’t leave.
Callin’ out the violence of the racist police.
We ain’t gonna stop, till people are free.
We ain’t gonna stop, till people are free.
