Supermodel Claims She Was Drugged by Bill Cosby During ‘Cosby Show’ Audition

Supermodel Beverly Johnson is the latest to come forward with allegations against legendary comedian Bill Cosby.

Johnson, who rose to fame in 1974 as the first black model to grace the pages of American Vogue, alleges that Cosby drugged her during an audition in the 1980s.

The former model wrote about the alleged incident in a personal essay, which was published on Thursday in Vanity Fair.

In the piece, Johnson spoke of Cosby’s wit and sense of humor, seemingly in awe of his career, as Cosby was the first African American to star in his own television series.  

The supermodel also talked about her dilemma to come forward about her encounter with Cosby many years ago.

“Black men have enough enemies out there already, they certainly don’t need someone like you, an African American with a familiar face and a famous name, fanning the flames,” she wrote.

Johnson now tells a story of how Bill Cosby allegedly drugged her in the comfort of his own home in the mid 1980s.

According to Johnson, Cosby asked her to audition for a role on his iconic television series. 

The former model said she received two invites to audition for Cosby at his home in New York City. 

The first time she accepted the invitation, others were there. However, the second time she was reportedly alone with the comedian.

This was when the two sat down to have dinner. Just before the audition, Johnson said Cosby wanted to see her “pretend” to be intoxicated, for purposes of the show.

“Cosby said he wanted to see how I handled various scenes, so he suggested that I pretend to be drunk. When did a pregnant woman ever appear drunk on The Cosby Show? Probably never, but I went with it,” wrote Johnson.

Next, Johnson said Cosby offered her a cappuccino and insisted that she drink it.

“I told him I didn’t drink coffee that late in the afternoon because it made getting to sleep at night more difficult. He wouldn’t let it go,” she explained. “It’s nuts, I know, but it felt oddly inappropriate arguing with Bill Cosby so I took a few sips of the coffee just to appease him.”

Because of her history with drug use in the industry, Johnson said she knew by the second sip that she had been drugged, “and drugged good.”

Johnson reportedly became “woozy,” and “the room began to spin nonstop.” She said she was able to get herself together, just enough, to scream at him, in which she repeatedly called him a “motherf****r.”

She said Cosby became angry and dragged her down the stairs by her arm before throwing her into a cab. 

Johnson claims to have no recollection of how she got home, but she did wake up in her own bed the following day.

Johnson said she never reported the incident, because she thought she was the only victim.

In light of the recent allegations against Bill Cosby, the former model said she felt compelled to come forward.
