What do James Franco, Joan Rivers, and Jimmy Carter all have in common? They have all been announced as nominees for this year’s Grammy Awards.

According to TheWrap, Former President Jimmy Carter was nominated Friday for a 2015 Grammy Award for his recording of “A Call to Action: Women, Religion, Violence, and Power.”

The 39th President is being considered for the award for Best Spoken Word Album, a category that includes poetry, audiobooks, and storytelling.

“A Call to Action” highlights Carter’s thoughts on the large-scale crimes against women, which include: slavery, genital cutting, infanticide, child marriage, rape, honor killings, and economic and social deprivation.

The audiobook urges the end of discrimination and abuse against women, calling it “the number one challenge in the world today.”

President Carter wrote

My own experiences and the testimony of courageous women from all regions and all major religions have made it clear that there is a pervasive denial of equal rights to more than half of all human beings, and this discrimination results in tangible harm to all of us, male and female.

The Georgia Democrat isn’t the only politician up for an award at this year’s ceremonies.

Massachusetts Democrat Elizabeth Warren is also up for the same award for her audiobook recording of her recent memoir “A Fighting Chance.”

Carter previously won the same award in 2007 for his reading of “Our Endangered Values: America’s Moral Crisis.”

Other politicians have won the prize under this category, including then-Senator Barack Obama in 2006 and 2008, former President Bill Clinton in 2004, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 1996.

The Grammy nominees list for The Best Spoken Word Album category, which was revealed on Friday, also includes James Franco and Joan Rivers.
