Playboy founder Hugh Hefner is the latest celebrity to comment on the sexual assault allegations against comedian Bill Cosby.
Hefner, a lifelong friend to Cosby, made comments in regard to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Tuesday.
The flamboyant founder released a statement Saturday:
Bill Cosby has been a good friend for many years and the mere thought of these allegations is truly saddening. I would never tolerate this kind of behavior, regardless of who was involved.
Judy Huth, now 56, claims Cosby sexually assaulted her at L.A.’s famed Playboy Mansion in 1975 when she was 15 years old.
It was reported Thursday that police are willing to speak with employees at Hefner’s estate and search the compound for evidence, even though four decades have passed since the alleged incident.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ they felt the department had “an obligation to investigate all crimes when a victim comes forward.”
Cosby continues to dismiss allegations as “innuendos,” while his attorney, Marty Singer, called the claims untrue and has questioned the accusers’ credibility in statements released to the media, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
