Exclusive: Mad Magazine Spoofs Damage Control Political Press Conferences

One of Andrew Breitbart’s finest public moments came when he commandeered Anthony Weiner’s hastily arranged press conference in 2011 at the height of Weinergate.

Andrew’s media savvy made the presser one for the ages. He also condemned the assembled press for making false accusations against him.

Mad Magazine takes a page out of the apology tour playbook with its newest political spoof. The parody, written and drawn by John Caldwell, is called, “A Disgraced Politician’s Guide to the Dos and Don’ts at a Hastily Called Press Conference.”

No, Andrew doesn’t appear in any of the panels, but it’s hard not to recall his Weinergate closeup while laughing along with Mad’s latest howler. The panel can be seen in Mad Magazine no. 529 on newsstands Aug. 12.
