Anthony Cumia, the co-host of the long-running Opie and Anthony Show on SiriusXM, says outrageous things for a living.

Something he tweeted off the radio regarding an incident involving a black woman, though, convinced SiriusXM to cut its ties with the popular radio star.

The 53-year-old DJ, who’s half of the Opie and Anthony show, was axed by the satellite radio company after Cumia fired off a string of angry missives about the alleged attack, calling the woman an “animal b—h” and a “savage.”

“SiriusXM has terminated its relationship with Anthony Cumia of the Opie & Anthony channel,” Patrick Reilly, senior vice president of communications for the company, said in a statement Friday.

Reilly said Cumia was fired late Thursday “after careful consideration of his racially charged and hate-filled remarks on social media.”

Cumia vowed to keep on broadcasting in some capacity, a promise made via his Twitter account.

Fellow comedian Colin Quinn of Saturday Night Live and Remote Control fame, says Cumia shouldn’t have lost his job over the social media rant.
