Famed “Everyman” Michael Moore angered a key producer at NBC’s The Tonight Show by trying to impose his will on the legendary show’s schedule.
A new book by Tonight Show producer Dick Berg, Behind the Curtain, reveals some of the demands stars made during his tenure on the late night program.
In Moore’s cast, the far-left filmmaker apparently waited until the last minute to spring a personal demand on the show’s team. Berg says in his book the move certainly made an impression, although not one he wished to revisit.
Here’s Berg’s take on the matter:
[Moore] threatened not to go on just before the show taped unless the producers agreed to air his homemade video. “He had us over a barrel,” writes Berg, admitting he caved but didn’t invite Moore back.
