Neil Patrick Harris says that CBS president Les Moonves asked him if he would be interested in replacing David Letterman on the “Late Show.” Harris said he turned the offer down fearing he would “get bored” with the repetition of a nightly show.
We don’t know if Moonves approached anyone else before asking the left-wing Stephen Colbert, star of Comedy Central’s low-rated “Colbert Report,” but he apparently wasn’t first.
Harris said he is interested in doing something like a weekly variety show.
