Despite playing on considerably less screens, God’s Not Dead is set to pull off a box office upset this weekend.
Crunching the early numbers has Sensei seeing that result play out. If anyone had told you that God’s Not Dead (which in limited release, even now, with 1,800+ theaters) would ever leap frog Noah (which is playing on over 3,000+ theaters) in the box office standings at the start of this year, would you have believed them?
Currently God’s Not Dead is looking at around a $4-5 million result this weekend, and so is Noah. But as we’ve seen in past box office frames, Noah tends to drop faster as the weekend goes on. Other prediction sites are also reporting the same.
God’s Not Dead, starring Kevin Sorbo as an atheist professor challenged by a spiritual student, is already the most successful film Freestyle Releasing has ever distributed.
