Ellen DeGeneres deemed the unpopular ObamaCare legislation a “success” in a sneak peek at the latest edition of her show airing today, telling guest President Barack Obama the nation is grateful for its passing.
Is it any wonder the president took time away from his day job, like dealing with the current geopolitical crisis in Crimea, to beam himself onto the talk show’s set?
The president prattled on about sweaters for his children, being solo at the White House while the First Lady is visiting China (a trip which banned the press) and how he thought DeGeneres’ Oscar night selfie was “a cheap stunt.”
Standard daytime talk blather, but the show’s host made sure to shill for Obama’s flailing, oft-delayed health care reboot.
It’s doing very, very well…you’ve got 5 million people signed up so far. [Applause] An enormous number of people have signed up, so it’s successful….Well, for people who are starting to applaud here, I think everyone’s very grateful that you did this. And I think it is important for people to sign up. It’s just better to be covered. You just never know.
And, in case anyone wondered if Obama would get a virtual mash note from the show and its host, consider how Ellen’s web site trumpeted the president’s arrival.
Now the leader of the free world, and the champion of comedy will get into the President’s new health care initiative. From L.A. to D.C., Ellen rolls out the red carpet for the United States’ fearless and brilliant head of state!
