We still dig The Beatles, even if we love the thrills of international competition a mite better.
Sunday’s CBS special The Beatles: The Night That Changed America, A Grammy Salute drew 14 million viewers on a night with much heavier than usual competition. Not only did the Fab Two and friends compete with NBC’s Winter Olympics coverage, the special also squared off against the return of AMC’s The Walking Dead.
The Winter Olympics attracted 25.4 million viewers, easily winning the night.
The Grammy special honored the group’s iconic first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, one of the biggest pop culture moments from the 1960s.
Update: AMC’s zombie series couldn’t overtake the Olympics in overall viewers, but it did earn the gold in the coveted 18-49 adults demo.
