George Zimmerman’s next opponent won’t be anyone from law enforcement or the legal profession but a rap star with his game face on.
A celebrity boxing promoter is putting the finishing touches on plans to pit Zimmerman, who killed Trayvon Martin in an altercation which, for some Americans, fueled concerns over racial discrimination, against rapper DMX.
DMX has promised to ‘beat his ass,’ but no contract or paperwork has been signed or agreed to yet,” DMX spokesman Domenick Nati told CNN Wednesday.
Zimmerman, a boxing enthusiast, came up with the idea. He may wish he hadn’t given what DMX has said so far about the match. The fight’s promoter says the rap star is “out for blood” in a match tentatively set for March 15 should all the paperwork be settled by then.
Not only will he break every rule in boxing, he said, he’ll “beat the living (expletive)” out of Zimmerman.
