Madame Secretary, a new CBS drama which could debut just as talk of Hillary Clinton’s presidential run hits a fever pitch, has found its director.
Sought after pilot director David Semel is spoken for this season, as he has been tapped to helm CBS’s drama pilot Madam Secretary, starring Tea Leoni.
No debut date has been announced for the show, but it’s hard to imagine the series won’t land at a time when Clinton’s presidential aspirations are powering the news cycle.
Semel’s TV resume includes American Dreams, Persons of Interest, Intelligence and Heroes.
The project is being co-produced by actor Morgan Freeman. The Shawshank Redemption star has been a vocal supporter of President Barack Obama, who brought Clinton on board as his Secretary of State.
