On February 2nd, police found actor Philip Seymour Hoffman dead at a Greenwich Village home with “a hypodermic needle still in his arm.”
The cause of death is believed to be a drug overdose.
According to the New York Post, a “personal assistant found Hoffman’s body in the apartment… around 11:30 a.m.” and called 911.
The actor was “fully clothed,” and heroin “was found in the pad.”
In 2006 Hoffman “publicly admitted that he nearly succumbed to substance abuse after graduating from NYU’s drama school, but got sober in rehab.” He “reportedly checked himself into rehab again” in 2012 after relapsing.
Philip Seymour Hoffman was 46 years old.
