According to sources, Lena Dunham will appear on the cover of Vogue’s February issue. Dunham is the creator and star of the HBO show “Girls.”
And while it is yet to be announced officially, Anna Wintour [editor of Vogue] gave her seal of approval to both Miss Dunham and her hit HBO show by turning up to the season three premiere in New York last night.
Wintour, according to another source, is trying to reach out to younger readers with the Dunham cover. Vogue rarely puts “curvy” women on it’s covers, a rule Wintour is happy to break to expand the magazine’s readership.
Dunham made some waves during the 2012 election when the Obama campaign released a video of a hyper-sexualized ad likening voting for the first time (for Obama) to losing one’s virginity.
