Whoopi Goldberg Throws Big Government Under Bus to Protect Obama

Liberal comedian Whoopi Goldberg is willing to defend President Barack Obama against his “signature” health care debacle–even if it means trashing big government to do so.

Goldberg joined Jay Leno for a chat on The Tonight Show Monday night, and the host gently brought up ObamaCare for his guest’s consideration. Goldberg’s first instinct took over–she made a joke about HealthCare.gov which drew both cheers and applause.

Then her Palace Guard instincts kicked in.

JAY LENO, HOST: Now what’s your take on ObamaCare? Been having any fun with that?

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Well, you know what? I have. Because I don’t understand how a four-year-old can upload videos and put a whole website together and these guys can’t do jack. I mean.

LENO: Right.

GOLDBERG: But the best, but wait. You might not like the rest of this. Hold on. What really gets me, though, is this, like, they say, you know, he, he did this. Like he built, he built the thing himself. He didn’t do that. He gave it to people. It cost $17 billion to make. And it’s like everything else that the government does. This is not new.
