Mark Wahlberg Blasts Actors Who Compare Their Job to Serving in the Military

Lone Survivor star Mark Walhberg says actors who think their jobs are as difficult as military service need to shut up.

In Lone Survivor, Wahlberg portrays the struggles Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell endured when he alone survived an ambush attack in Afghanistan in 2005. 

According to Entertainment Weekly, Wahlberg held nothing back during a question and answer session with other actors at the film’s Nov. 12 premiere. He said his movie The Fighter required “four and a half years” of training, and “it really means nothing” compared to what Navy SEALS endure.

To actors who like to think they suffer as the military does, Wahlberg said:

For actors who sit there and talk about, “Oh, I went to SEAL training”? I don’t give a f-ck what you did. You don’t know what these guys did. For somebody go sit there and say my job was as difficult as being in the military? How f-cking dare you, while you sit in a makeup chair for two hours. 

…I don’t give a sh-t if you get your ass busted. You get to go home at the end of the day. You get to go to your hotel room. You get to order your f-cking chicken. Whatever the f-ck it is.

When Wahlberg finished he apologized for “losing his sh-t” in front of everybody, but he did not apologize for standing up for Navy SEALS. He said simply, “Don’t ask me anymore questions tonight.”
