One of the actors in the upcoming drama Nymphomaniac is drumming up some extra excitement about the film project.
Shia LaBeouf, best known for his role in three Transformers movies, told a reporter that when he first read the script for the new Lars von Trier movie it promised an element not seen in mainstream movies.
There’s a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says we’re doing it for real,” he told MTV News. “Everything that is illegal, we’ll shoot in blurred images. Other than that, everything is happening.
The Hollywood Reporter poured some cold water on the hype, explaining how movie making magic would make it look like the cast members were really engaging in sex.
Nymphomaniac” producer Louise Vesth told the site, “We shot the actors pretending to have sex and then had the body doubles, who really did have sex, and in post we will digital-impose the two. So above the waist it will be the star, and below the waist it will be the doubles.
Von Trier’s film, which is still looking for a U.S. release date, stars Charlotte Gainsbourg, Christian Slater, Uma Thurman and LaBeouf in a story about a middle-aged woman looking back on her raucous sex life.
